My Oregon driver's license arrived in the mail today!

Some time in the past, I answered several questions in answers.yahoo.com, including the following.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ar8y8K.DjN42UMhqrxU01KojzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20080418130606AATPqF2

This morning, I got an alert showing my screen name appearing in a different site, with similar, but munged content.

http://r1job.com/hotel-jobs/i-just-retired-from-my-career-would-like-to-find-a-job-as-a-front-desk-clerk-for-a-hotel/

What irks me is that the question and the advice are munged, as if someone translated them to one language and then back again into English.

Since my parents were in town, we did a little sight seeing.

If you happen to be in Portland, OR on 11 January, please stop by for "Mama's Country Breakfast."  We will have Tennessee country ham, biscuits, gravy and lots of other tasty stuff.

Please message me for details.

It is snowing today in Portland and there is about an inch of snow on the ground.

Apparently, this is an unusual event for this city.  The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is requiring the use of chains on all highways AND streets in Portland city proper...

So we are staying home today.  I am writing Xmas cards and catching up on my crochet and listening to Xmas songs I have not listened to in years.

Maybe I will finally put up the tree and make the living room presentable.

We flew from Portland, OR to Nashville, TN yesterday.

Today, we took Chuk's niece and nephew to Nashville's Adventure Science Center.

They have a very new planetarium and we got to see an interesting star show through which I kept falling asleep.  I blame jet lag.

We ate at four different restaurants.

Chuk and I had lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant and the kids just poked at their french fries.

Then we stopped at Sonic for a shake and popcorn chicken for the niece.

After the visit to the museum, we stopped at BK for a kids meal for the nephew.

And later that evening, we all went out to a nice family restaurant for a steak and spaghetti dinner

Tomorrow, we drive to the country to visit Chuk's parents for a few days.

250 words...

Considering I will be out of town for the final week, I might need to type a few more words.

On Friday night, while playing board games, our friend, P, asked us if anyone wanted to go on a glider ride with him. Apparently, he had received a gift certificate for a free ride, but wasn't able to find anyone who was willing. Up in air in a bunch of metal and fiber glass and no engine... who wouldn't balk at the idea?

Well, I didn't! )
